Establishing an educational ecosystem to build a culture of health

Our schools should be safe havens for teaching and learning, free of crime and violence. The National Center for Education Statistics ‘School Crime and Safety Report’[1] identifies the presence of disruptive elements, that leads to victimization such as bullying, fights, and student use of drugs and alcohol. No country can achieve inclusive and equitable quality education, if learners experience a host of turmoil that infringes the fundamental right to education.

Entrepreneurs are recognized for their significant role in shaping industry and contributing to the development of the global economy. During the past decade, entrepreneurs have been the primary driver behind a myriad of inventions that have led to the creation of a host of new products and services which have also created employment opportunities. Thereby helping to raise the standard of living by generating sustainable income to improve the welfare of many at risk populations, promoting economic mobility for millions of people around the world and fostering the accumulation of wealth. These tangible outcomes were derived as a result of leveraging access to education and a variety of technology programs designed to raise the status of women in Indian society.

Urinary frequency and urgency, interstitial cystitis, constipation or bowel strain, irritable bowel syndrome, pain in the pelvic region, painful intercourse, lower-back pain, muscle spasms in the pelvis, are all natural consequences of aging or childbirth, or both. Due to the sensitivity of the issue, women don’t talk about it; however, one in four women can seem to relate. A recent study published in Obstetrics and Gynecology found that nearly 50 percent of all women will at some point in their lives contend with urinary incontinence, whether they ever give birth or not.

Yoga for Stroke Rehabilitation

GoInwards proposes a program integrating yoga therapy as a healing modality for stroke rehabilitation, centered on evidence-based practices, to enhance the quality of life, and accelerate physical, occupational and speech therapy. While developed as a stand-along therapeutic modality, our team understands the importance of collaborative care and recommends working with the individual’s rehabilitation team and case manager.

Yoga for Brain Aneurysm

An estimated 6.5 million people in the United States have an unruptured brain aneurysm, or 1 in 50 people. The annual rate of rupture is approximately 8 – 10 per 100,000 people. About 30,000 people in the United States suffer a brain aneurysm rupture each year. A brain aneurysm ruptures every 18 minutes.

Yoga, breathwork and meditation increases the activity of parasympathetic nervous system and helps relax the body and mind by decreasing the heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate etc. The practice cultivates self-introspection and self-regulation, as it requires a constant audit of ones’ activities and regimes.

Building a Culture of Health

American children are experiencing extra-ordinary threats to their wellbeing and self-esteem to a degree that has never been faced. The perfect storm, arising from COVID-19, 40+ million unemployed combined with civil and social distress, is restructuring the rubric of our communities in real time. Children are growing up in an environment where their families, teachers and those who are traditionally responsible for providing their security appear to have limited control.
